The menu system is intuitive to get through without the manual. Within moments I had programmed my 3 most used setups into the memories. Features I really like are the various displays 6 memories the accuracy and quality of the output the USB fast charging sockets and most of all the RUN button so you don’t accidentally fry your device when powering on in the morning. The only things I don’t like are that the main power switch is on the rear and the noise of the fan when it comes on. Would definitely buy again.

The unit is smaller than I expected but not too small to make use of the front panel. I am not a fan of the banana plug sockets – proper screw posts would be better. Display looks good. The main power switch being on the back is inconvenient.

Positives: Presets are good allowing 6 preset configurations. Voltage seems accurate with no issues with output power. Negatives: The PC interface is terrible and doesn’t clearly show the current. If trying to use for OBS forget it. The power button is on the back not the front which is very inconvenient. Manual voltage adjustment is clunky with tiny numbers. Banana clips only so forget about using regular probes.

The supply appears to work sufficiently. One thing that is not clear in the manual however is how to update the firmware. There is a black USB-A to USB-C cable supplied in the box – this cable is what you need for the firmware update as it contains a built-in flash drive. Do not use the front USB-C connector for the update use the back only. Important tip: on the front of the power supply hold the UP button while turning it on to enter firmware update mode.

Overall I’m very happy with it but I have a few remarks. 1. Main power switch must be on the front not the back – reaching behind the device is extremely inconvenient. 2. Status indicator is far too bright and almost blinding. 3. RUN button is too small. 4. Memory bank configuration should show meaningful info like voltage/current instead of DataSet1. Selecting a memory bank should be simpler than scrolling up and down.

The IPS3608 takes bench testing to another level. Digital metering is integral and can measure at banana points and USB outputs. The PS has 6 programmable set points allowing the user to quickly change voltage/current profiles. Very useful for setting 24VDC for PLC testing and measuring load demand for PS sizing. Also useful for measuring high amp hour USB power banks.

My unit stopped working while under warranty. I contacted support expecting a replacement. Instead their agent sent me instructions to disassemble the unit buy a Schottky diode and a fuse and solder them onto the circuit board myself. I am a customer not an electronic repair technician. After wasting my time they finally admitted they weren’t responsible and told me to email a different address. FNIRSI support is a serious problem if the product breaks.

The FNIRSI IPS3608 DC Power Supply is quite useful and has a modern color display with more information than simpler bench power supplies. The six configurable memory settings make it easy to retrieve your most commonly-used voltage settings. Unfortunately the user manual is pretty poor but the basic voltage/current set-up is fairly easy to figure out. The unique feature I found very useful is the two fast-charge adjustable voltage/current USB power ports including a USB Type-C port supporting Power Delivery (PD). The IPS3608’s display panel shows which protocol and voltage/current is in use when you plug in a capable device. A very nice feature for a power supply.

The DPOS350P is a very versatile and well-designed instrument with an excellent price/performance ratio. I especially value the integration of oscilloscope multimeter and signal generator functions into a single portable device. However the cooling fan appears to run continuously and can be quite noticeable in terms of noise even when the device is not under heavy load. A future firmware update implementing temperature-based dynamic fan control could significantly reduce noise and improve battery efficiency.
