    Good quality compact tester. Not as accurate as a dedicated LCR meter but very handy to check if components are good or not. For those using this tester for the first time the first press of the Test button shows no device present – just press again and it will test your device.

It considers large resistances to be capacitors and some power transistors to be resistors.     Another beautiful portable device from FNIRSI! Lightweight and compact with a replacement platform for measuring SMD components 3 foot clips and charging wire. Device came almost fully charged but with firmware 1.0.2 which had several errors. Updated to 1.0.5 from the official site and everything was corrected. I consider this the best portable tester – pocket size right-hand size built-in lithium battery and a special platform for SMD.

    Incorrectly identifies transistor terminals – the H945 transistor is identified incorrectly. Schottky diode SR160 is identified as a 1.88 kOhm resistor. Firmware installed 1.0.6. If this is not corrected in future firmware the device is absolutely unusable.

    This device is worth 10 stars if not for the remaining firmware bug. The only bug left is that pin numbers on NPN transistors don’t change correctly when reversing the emitter and collector leads. All other tests seem quite accurate making this device really great to have. I would be happy to give it 10 stars if the NPN issue can be fixed.

    The ability to quickly identify and test basic components has made my hobby much easier. The LCR-P1 is an inexpensive tool to test and identify transistors capacitors diodes LEDs and resistors. The tool itself is easy to understand and use and the screen conveniently shows the schematic diagram and component information. I’ve found this particularly useful when identifying transistors and testing salvaged LEDs.

    Bought the LCR-P1 to assist repairing equipment and to test bulk buy excess stock components including semiconductors. Resistor and capacitor identification seems to be pretty reliable. Works well with most semiconductors except high power Darlington bipolar transistors which consistently show up as resistors. All in all a useful addition to my toolkit.

    The product worked well in all 3 functions except both testers seem to have a problem with inductors – they all read 14mH even a simple wire. Capacitor resistor and semiconductors all worked.

    The screen is tiny. Power up shows no component or defective component and you have to press the button again even if a component was present at power up. Values are wrong pinouts are wrong and the test leads have no markers on the unit to show corresponding location to the readout. The firmware update screen flashes by fast with no instructions about checking the version installed.

    The socket is problematic. There is a problem with diodes with thicker leads when bending them into the socket. The socket should be designed differently like the BSIDE ESR02 Pro has.
